The Champions Cup is now hung, drawn and quartered! What a remarkable and wonderful weekend of rugby we were treated to. Paddy and Andy from ‘In the Bin’ Rugby Pod are here to discuss all the latest rugby results and news.

If your team was involved in European Rugby championships; either the premier Champions Cup or the ‘as delicious’ Challenge Cup, then you will have had a ‘full on’ weekend.

Champions Cup – an Easter Treat!

In Limerick, Munster edged an epic game. The giants of Toulon ‘smelled the blood of Irishmen’ but, it was Conway who was ‘the goose who laid the golden egg’ as his magic try (see main picture) sent Munster to yet another European semi-final.

Leinster are also through to the semis, as Leavy continues to make rugby look easy. The Irish province showed once again why they are hot favourites for the title, as they ultimately outclassed the back-to-back champions, Saracens.

At Parc y Scarlets, Ken Owens led from the front and Tadhg made sure La Rochelle ‘felt the Beirne’. The Welsh region showed they can tough it out, as well as turn on the style.

Finally in the all French affair, it was the Parisians who came Racing out in the second half. It was an unbelievably fun game at times. Action packed, although the TMO was busy – forward or a forward pass was the question? Don’t they love those super slow-motion replays.

You could say Clermont v Racing was ‘as mad and unpredictable as Roman Poite’s refereeing decisions!’

Andy and Paddy discuss the Conference System & more

Yes, the results were the clear highlights, but ‘In the Bin’ rugby pod also cover the organization. The conference system and the composition of the competition – which is what makes the European Championships really of interest to all rugby fans.

As well, the boys chat some football; we know, that’s not ‘our game’. However, Tottenham winning at Chelsea is earth shattering….and took our hosts back to their childhood (because it has been that long since the ‘Spurs won at Stamford Bridge).

as far as weekends go, it was pretty good! – and easter eggs too.
